The Fire In The Hearth

This ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS piece of artwork is the property of the lovely LadyNorthstar

This is, of course, my darling dwarf babu Kain, and when LadyNorthstar opened up her commissions, I couldn’t resist snagging one. I feel bad for not coloring Kain beforehand (I honestly suck at coloring. I really do), but Lady captured her details and color palette to the T. Seeing her like this completely cements in my mind the image of Kain, colors and all. You really nailed them, Lucrezia. I can’t thank you enough.

The idea behind this piece was that as she’s typically surrounded by many children (she is a babysitter after all), some of the children would get to asking her about her bow, as she almost always seems to carry it. After all, a dwarf with a bow isn’t exactly a very common sight. So sometimes, she’d get requests for demonstration. Thus, she’d turn the demonstration into a lesson, teaching the children that, sometimes “ye need to learn in case that’s all ye have.” She’s the best of her brothers and sister with the bow, though she won’t brag about it.

GO LOVE ALL OVER LADYNORTHSTAR BECAUSE THIS IS HER ART. SHE NEEDS THE LOOOOOOOVE.
